A few words at the very beginning

I had a few dreams when I was younger: becoming a top double agent, training dolphins, speaking seven languages, owning a website, etc. While all the others will likely remain as dreams (maybe just for another while), at least the last one seems somewhat achievable.  So here we go – Fan Yang Photography.

I crunch quite a lot of numbers during the day, Monday through Friday. But every time I pick up the camera, I feel like a different person - taking photos seems to activate a different part of my brain (please note this is simply how I feel, without any legitimate scientific support i.e. a brain scan) and "forces” me to be observant of life, and I like it. On this website, I strive to share some interesting “moments” of life – in the streets of New York, at my friends’ weddings (although they never invited me to photograph their weddings – thank you friends!), during my trips, or just with Blowfish (a.k.a. my dear husband).  Of course I will also write blogs – who doesn’t these days anyways? But on a more serious note, from time to time I do catch myself with a strong urge to share a few thoughts with people (photos related or not) – more than with just Blowfish, who occasionally can feel super overwhelmed (by me).  If you are curious how overwhelming that can be, check out my blog.

Last but not least, I hope you can find something enjoyable here. And, if you happen to like my style and would like to do a photo shoot with me, please feel free to reach out via email. I will be this glad to know that you like my photos... (click here)

Eric Kim (my role model, and you might keep hearing this name a couple of times) said 99% of blogs die within a month. One more dream to add on my list – keeping this site alive for two months.

Stay hungry. Stay foolish.
